A lot of things contribute to what make Ladies hair weak and rusty. They include bleaching of hair, stripping, dyeing, heating, the type of comb you use, hair not being hydrated, too much of shampooing (which can make your hair rough and prone to split end) etc. All these cause much harm than good to the hair. Do not  be dismayed because I have an affordable solution to the problem.
Tips
Shampoo your hair with lukewarm water (not hot water) at least twice a month to purify your hair and scalp. The type of Comb you use to comb hair can also make a difference to your hair. It is advisable to use a wide tooth comb and cover your hair with scarf while out door. The edible but natural ingredients that you can use for hair treatment include: Honey, Avocado, Eggs, Yogurt, Olive Oil, Beer, Baking Soda, Cornmeal, Coconut Oil etc.

Did you know that avocados oils are more like our skin's oils? Or that the mild acid in lemon is more  effective than other products laden with chemicals? Why not try one of these and  see how it works.

Janice Cox, author of "Natural Beauty at Home" said that "The [raw] egg is really the best of all worlds,"
The yolk is a natural moisturizer because it is rich in fat and proteins while the egg white contains a bacteria-eating enzymes that clears unwanted oil.

How to use: For all hair type, apply the egg mixture to a clean damp hair - egg whites only to treat oily hair and egg yolks to moisturize dry, brittle hair, According to Cox  leave for 20 minutes, rinse with cool water and shampoo hair. This can be done once a month; egg whites-only treatment can be can be done twice in a month.
Itchy scalp - This can be caused by dirt, poor diet, stress, climate etc. But you do not have to worry because the solution is at your door step. Try the mixture of olive oil and lemon juice in your hair. As explained earlier the acidity in Lemon juice helps to remove dry flakes while olive oil moisturizes the scalp.
How to Use: Mix olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and water (all in equal proportion), and then massage into damp hair and scalp. Allow for 20 minutes, then rinse and shampoo hair. Do this on weekly basis.

Dull Hair - Air pollution and some styling products can sap moisture and makes the hair dull. According to Lisa Belkin the author of "Cosmetics Cookbooks" dairy products like sour cream and  plain yogurt can be can help reverse this damage caused by this air pollution because of the Lactic acid  which gently takes away dirt while the milk fat moisturizes.
How to Use: Put half cup of plain yogurt or sour cream on damp hair and allow  for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, cool water, then shampoo the hair. Treatment can be done once a week.

Fine hair - According to Cox to add weight to fine hair, use beer! Beer drink contains a lot of yeast, which works to plump tired tresses. When the liquid from the beer evaporates, the remaining protein residue from the wheat, malt or hops continues to strengthen and structure the hair says Belkin.
How to use: Pour half cup of beer into a container and allow it to settle for some hours to deplete carbonation with 1 teaspoon canola oil and a raw egg. Apply to clean, damp hair, and allow for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water. This can be done once every other week.
Dry or sun-damaged hair can be caused by over-exposure o sun, hard water or trusty flat iron. According to Cox, Honey  is a nature's sweetener that attracts and locks in moisture
How to use: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil to half cup of honey, apply into clean, damp hair and allow for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. This is to loosen the honey for easier application. For extremely sun-damaged hair, Mix honey with avocado or egg yolk to  help replenish the keratin protein bonds that UV rays attack. This can be done every other month.
Oily or greasy hair. This can be caused by the use of bad oil.  According to Belkin "cornmeal or cornstarch is an inexpensive way to eliminate oil and grease".
How to use: Apply cornmeal or cornstarch onto dry hair and scalp and allow for 10 minutes then use a hairbrush to completely brush it out. Treatment can be done on a daily basis.
Avocado according to Home beauty experts is the best for repair of Frizzy hair. The oils and proteins from Avocado have the best combination of nutrients for providing a silky and even hair.
How to use: Mash half of a ripe avocado and apply into clean, damp hair. Allow for 15 minutes and then rinse with water. Increase your moisturizing power by mixing mashed avocado with sour cream, egg yolks or mayonnaise. This can be done twice a month.
Baking Soda is the best for residue-ridden hair because Sodium Carbonate breaks down anything acid.
How to Use: Mix baking soda (2 tablespoons) with little amount of water until a thick paste is formed then apply into damp hair and allow for 15 minutes before rinsing with water, then shampoo the hair. This can be done twice a month

Pure coconut oil brings about thicker hair if used on hair on regular basis.

How to use: You do not just pour it like that on the hair rather heat the coconut oil for some time, allow to cool and apply and massage your scalp in a circular motion when its lukewarm. This should be done once a week to help boost hair follicles, which revives hair growth and makes hair shimmering and chunky.
